Thought For Today

Psalm 100 A Psalm of praise.

Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Psalm 100:3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we oueselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 100:1 Is a simple verse, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!!" I believe that God is blessed when we make happy noises unto him, such as singing praises to him, not just singing them, but shouting them! I know that all of my life when I was happy I got noisy! Ever went to a ballgame and shouted as loud as you could for your team, and when they were ahead did you make a joyful noise, perhaps a shout, clapped your hands, stomped your feet, jumped up and down!!! So if we are happy about God should we not also make such happy noises unto him, after-all Psalm 100:1 Says to!!

Psalm 100:2 Another simple verse! It says that we are to serve the Lord with gladness, that we are to come before his presence with singing. So therefore when we go to church, Sunday school, pray, say grace, anytime we are coming before God's presence we should be glad, and singing! My God is a God of Happiness, and gladness, and all good things, not a God of gloom and doom, so therefore I will sing my praises unto my God and be glad!!!

Psalm 100:3 Remember that if it wasn't for God we would not be here, for he made us, each and every one of us, he created us, we belong to him, and he wants us to be glad, and happy about our lives. Just like the good shepherd, God will not allow any harm to come to us if we just trust in him. Let's refer back to Psalm 23:1 for just a second: Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 100:4 We are to enter into his gates with thanksgiving, we should thank the Lord for everything we have, and every thing we experience. Anytime we go before the Lord in prayer, or praise and worship we need to thank him for all that he has done for us. "And into his courts with praise" God's courts can be anywhere, anytime you are in the presence of God you need to praise him because you are entering into his courts! When worship and praise him it blesses him.

Psalm 100:5 Simple verse, The Lord is good, he cannot be not good to those that love him. His mercy will last forever, he will never condemn you if you only ask forgiveness for your sins, he will show mercy to you and forgive those sins forever. The truth of God, his existence, his love, his mighty power, has always been in the minds and mouths of man, and it will continue to be so even unto the last generation of man on this earth!
